While perusing reddit, I came across this video https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ClR9tcpKZec which purportedly shows Hitler talking in his "normal" voice. It's obviously much deeper than the voice that most people associate with him due to his speeches, and I was wondering why that was. Was it intentional?
This question may be for a historian that knows about AV reproduction more than Hitler as a person. I always thought it was an artifact of the audio/video being played a hair too fast (possibly when it was converted from analog to digital formats), similar to when you play a record too fast.
I cant address if he did but I might help with the why. Going back to Suetonius, and "Life of Julius Caesar" it has been noticed and taught that a higher pitched voice carries farther and is easier to understand when talking to crowds. Hitler was right on the cusp of speeches given with and without amplification.
