As one might have surmised, started playing Sniper Elite: V2 recently. If a player gets off a lucky shot and hits an enemy Wehrmacht or Red Army soldier's carried grenades, there is a chance that one will detonate and kill the carrier.
I understand that aiming for a target as small as an enemy's belted grenade would be near impossible, but if a rifle bullet happened to strike a Stielhandgranate or F1 was there a chance of it going off?
Likely not. Grenades are not designed to explode due to shock, but rather by chemical ignition. Unless the rifle bullet had the means to ignite the explosive material inside, the chances of it setting off a grenade are slim to none.
