I think you'll need to clarify as a hundred years ago we didn't have dollar stores. The ancestors of the dollar store - a store that sold a variety of inexpensive items at a particular price - were called five and dimes.

So are you looking for things that would have been sold at a five and dime, or for things that would have cost a dollar?
