I am much older than many of you, but I was hoping you may be able to help me track down some family history! My great grandfather Baron Von Schultzendorf and our family line has lived generationally from inheritance with the exception that we reside in Germany. Myself being the first in my family line to never leave U.S soil and getting close to retirement--I wanted to explore my roots.
Can any of you find the history behind my distant elder?
How would I go about researching my family line or importance in Germany?
How do I know if I still have claim to inheritance from the German of Schultz?
Any cool information would be great!

Do you know where in Germany he was from? There is a place called Schulzendorf(without out the t) which may or may not be the right place.
Also to tracing your family tree that far back and finding out if you have claim to the inheritance will probably require contacting some German officials, libraries etc.
If I were you I would contact living von Schultzendorffs (it is spelled with two f's in German). If you can find someone near you who speaks German and is willing to spend a few hours in front of a computer, just plain old googling in German will take you far. I found a heritage site in German for example - here is one of your ancestors I suppose.
Also, post to r/germany, they might be able to help.
