So far the only other tipi like dwelling I've found is the Lavvu, used by the Sami people in Scandanavia. The sheer simplicity and utility of a conical timber frame structure would seem to be an inevitable step in the evolution of architecture anywhere the right kind of raw materials are readily available. Does anyone know other examples of similarly constructed dwellings being used in the past?
