I apologize if this question violates the rules, but it seemed like the best place to ask. I'm specifically looking into Southern New Hampshire University and Arizona State University online programs and trying to decide if they are... well... good. I was hoping that perhaps any of you had received online degrees, or just had an opinion on these types of degrees.
It might help if you explain your objective: what you are looking to get out of a degree. We can then weigh up whether the method proposed (online degree) is suitable. This is really the basic principle of historical investigation, which would be followed by results (you taking the degree) and conclusion (a review of what the degree has given you and what you can do with it).
Many universities offer degrees for online coursework even though they're a brick-and-mortar institution. No one can tell that the degree is "online". It would be worth as much as any other history degree, I would think.
The value of "online only university" degrees is perceived to be quite lower than traditionally sought degrees.
