Suppose I'm a not-disabled 30 year old "average joe" (don't work for the SS or public sector, just have an everyday job) citizen in Nazi Germany, between 1940 to the end of the war. Is there any way I could avoid conscription into Wehrmacht?

If there's no way to avoid it, would I have to fight in the wehrmacht for the rest of war, or would I just do a couple of years and go back to my old life/job in Germany?

By being Jewish or another undesirable race (gypsy etc.) Otherwise, the only other way to avoid conscription was to be deemed fundamental to the war effort ie a scientist, machines etc. Even then many of them were still conscripted
