What are some examples of defensive structures (castles, forts) that were obsolete from the start, ie they did not become obsolete with new technology because they were already useless

Apparently Vaxholm Fortress in Sweden, hilarious outdated, caused Moltke the Elder to burst into laughter when he saw it.

Nehaj fortress is an interesting example. It was sort of obsolete from the start, but not useless. At the time of its planning and construction, fortresses were already in general adapted to the role of artillery in sieges. Some Dalmatian towns were constructing modern renaissance or star forts at the time. However, due to local limitations, a lack of space on that hill overlooking Senj, it was impossible to build a proper star fort there. Therefore, even though there are visible Renaissance influences in Nehaj, it was built tall and narrow, more like a medieval fort.
