I'm looking for digestible sources of information about daily life in a midwestern city around 1918, but most sources seem to focus on a soldier's life, which is precisely what I don't need for this project.
Anyone have any ideas?
I was recently involved in a similar project in my city (in the UK). Literary sources on civilian life are fairly scant. I would recommend approaching the local museum or archive and seeing if they can show you any photographs/letters/artefacts from the time.
