Why did the Greeks stop wearing their traditional Byzantine robes and start dressing like pirates after the fall of Constantinople

I noticed that Byzantine clothes look more or less the same as Roman ones (if a tad bit more flashy). I was wondering what caused the Greeks to go from dressing like this

to dressing like this

The first picture is the Emperor, surronded by bishops and nobility.

The second picture is a folk costume based on holiday clothing worn by commoners.

It isnt really an issue of time, but of a different social class.
