The Tudors was a really interesting mix of totally accurate and completely inaccurate. The writers did lift some direct quotes from the letters from Henry VIII to Anne to use in their dialogue, which was pretty cool. The "Chateau Vert" pageant where Anne is first noticed was an actual event and yes, Anne did play Perseverance! But they also combined people (Henry's sisters Margaret and Mary into The Tudors' Margaret), fudged age differences (Henry and Anne were about a decade apart), and used completely period-inappropriate costuming.
