In trying to create a believable fictional European city of the 19th century, I have been trying to create a list of locations of note that it may contain. I'm thinking of things like banks, hospitals, churches, theaters, pubs, etc.
Really I'm curious what sort of places a 19th century European might find themselves visiting over the course of an average week.
Which part of Europe? If you're talking London then brothels and pubs would have been common. However if you go to Vienna then you'll find coffeehouses to be much more the norm.
