Were the failures of the Royal Navy or the relative successes and failures of British and Argentine air power and infantry big news amongst Soviet military circles?
Perhaps you could expand on what failures and successes that you mean? The Royal Navy's nuclear submarine presence forced the Argentine Navy to remain in port or risk being sunk at will so the British ruled the sea. And the harrier with well trained pilots proved to be quite devastating and controlled the air as well. However, it was a war so losses did occur but nothing that even slowed the British down much. I was a east coast US sailor at the time and we all followed it pretty close. I would be very interested if this overall impression is off by very much.
