How many Normans settled in the British Isles after 1066? How did that number compare to the non-Norman population?

Only about 10,000 Normans arrived in England, compared to a Native population of a couple of million. The Normans confiscated land off of the English elite, built castles and replaced the clergy in order to successfully control the native population. However that being said, the Normans probably wouldn't have been able to control England that well had English systems (such as shire courts, writs and the geld) not already been in place.
