I'm stoned out of my mind and this is probably pretty dumb, but I thought I'd ask anyways because I'm really itching to hear other opinions on this. So I was reading about the Tobas Catastrophe (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toba_catastrophe_theory) and noticed how a lot of scientists say that the eruption and its after-effects may have reduced the planets population to as little as 3000 members. Now since we know that historically, humans have been using metaphors and allegories since the beginning of abstract thought, do you think that since a volcanic eruption typically results in ash falling (raining) from the sky, could it be possible that "great floods" that can be found in the Bible as well as the beliefs in countless ancient cultures were an allegorical account of the Toba eruption and the subsequent harsh habitability of the planet?
