and there was one with women in Afghanistan from the 1950's in a library, wearing modern clothing, etc. My question is this, what led to the decline in social status of women during the rise of the Taliban, and how Afghanistan went from being quite a civilised country to a now war torn country filled with terrorists. I am sorry if I said anything incorrect.
Those pictures that you often see of modern women in Iran and Afghanistan are almost all depicting upper class and the rare middle class. Wander out of the few wealthy neighborhoods and life was relatively the same as it is now over there.
