So I'm getting into medieval literature, and I'm wondering if there are any books about King Arthur with Old English and Modern English translations of the tales. Which one do you recommend?
There's nothing about Arthur in Old English - it's all Latin, Welsh, or Breton. If you want the 'proper' tales, then you'll want a translation of Geoffrey of Monmouth's Historia Regum Britanniae.
It's Middle English, but Malory's Le Morte d'Artur is probably the best one to read. It's a really complete collection of the myth and it reads well.
