I am doing research for a paper on this subject. I have written on this subject before but am looking for any additional readings that would further my understanding of it. Additionally, I am open to any recommendations as to what I should focus in my paper on (this will be a 20 page paper). By no means am I trying to get you guys to do my homework for me and I hope this is not against the subreddit rules on that matter. I am simply trying to get suggestions and recommendations from as many people as possible to ensure there is not something I have overlooked. Thank you again in advance
Cheers
Are you specifically talking about Prussian military strategy, or their overall political strategy for achieving Prussian hegemony?
If you're writing a paper on a relatively modern subject, I highly recommend having at least one or two primary sources. Hughes had a nice translation of several of Helmuth von Moltke (the Elder)'s writings which I recommend as a start. If you know older German (not Old German), I recommend looking for his actual original writings. He was after all the main strategist for not only the Franco-Prussian war but the Austrian-Prussian war as well.
