Is the movie just full of distortions and myths or is it historically accurate? What are some of the most claring mistakes in the movie compared to real history?
I haven't seen Agora but I wrote about Hypatia yesterday, though it was to answer a question on Christianity's 'crimes'. You can read it here. Like many things from late antiquity, a lot of it depends on how you interpret the evidence. I don't know much about philosophy or science, so I won't be able to answer questions on what Hypatia's 'professional career' was like, but if you are curious about the religious issues involved, I'll do my best to answer your questions :)
