I understand that this was where Industrial War started and that most tactics were way out of date by the time they hit the actual front. So I am curious, what would a Infantry Man expect for his Basic Training? Did they have Basic training as we think of it today?

No, or at least, not basic infantry training. The US Army infantry school was officially called the "School of Musketry" until 1915, and the "Benning Revolution" under Marshall, where what we would recognize as modern small unit infantry tactics began to be taught, didn't happen until after WW1.
Due to a dearth of personnel(the US Army in the era was very small, remember) many US soldiers ended up going through training in France under French and British instructors.
