There seems to be no medals on this guy, but I'm sure a lieutenat should have at least some type of stripe on him that indicates his rank. Is this even an accurate depiction of a field Lt. at the time?
It's not a stripe, but missing chevron (v-shaped military rank insignia) or star (in case he is political officer) on both sleeves of his overcoat. Also there's no troops insignia on his collar.
Besides even with these chevrons and fixed collar (not mentioning weird looking coat and belt) this uniform would be true prior to 1943 (or at least till January 1943). Since 1943 Soviet Army got epaulets and lieutenant would look completely different.
So no, it's not accurate depiction.
