I've been studying American history lately, and that has also included learning about the Mohawk people, who at the time (1700s) seemed to treat their women far better than colonists. But it hasn't struck me until recently that I've never read anything about any Native American tribe who treated their women poorly.
So...do any Native American tribes exist that treat their women poorly, or view them are being very inferior to men?

Do you mean "poorly in comparison to modern Western women" or "poorly in comparison to contemporary Western women"?
Nor sure if you are open to south american amerind societies, but you certainly brough back to my mind the story of Helena Valero. She was kidnapped at age 12 by the Yanomamo and after several escapes and close calls eventually married to 2 Yanomamo men in succession. She tells of severe beatings and harassment by her co-wives and of abuse, indifference and general poor treatment by at least one of her husbands. The driving force for these conflicts seem to have been competition amongst the wives for the limited resources provided by the sole husband. There was a definite pecking order, and the husband would not interfere in fights among the wives, which could lead to blows or poisoning.
