Good texts on battle tactics from ancient times until gunpowder?

I'm looking to learn about battle tactics but I'm not sure where to start. I haven't found anything too broad or covering lots of different tactics, which is more what I'm looking for.

Does anyone know of any resources I could use to learn about this? I tried searching on this subreddit but didn't find anything.

"Warfare in the Ancient World" edited and introduced by General Sir John Hackett covers warfare from the Early Dynastic period of Mesopotamia up through the Late Roman Empire, circa 3000 BC through 395 AD.

One textbook study (seriously, check out the two libraries that have it) is:

Gregory Daddis et al., History of the Military Art: From 450 to 1914 (2005).

And in case you're interested, it also has a companion volume:

Steve Waddell, History of the Military Art: Since 1914 (2005).

Both volumes are fairly rare to come by, but Worldcat links to a marketplace where the first volume is available for only a couple bucks.
