Perhaps a lack of evidence of discrimination here could be taken as evidence. Finns are northern European with quite fair skin, and they immigrated to the US and Canada (primarily around the western end of the Great Lakes) in the mid- and late-19th century, continuing into the early 20th. By and large, a large portion of the Finnish population has blonde hair and blue eyes, and, as /u/Halmine pointed out, few look the way you've mentioned. While a sort of Finglish persisted in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and nearby regions in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and the Thunder Bay area (using many English words or English-inspired Finnish neologisms with Finnish case structures and grammar), from what I've read, Finns assimilated fairly easily into the iron mining and wood industries in those regions.
