My town is doing a play about the battle of Kings Mountain. Several of the cast members recently visited the military park and saw the memorials of many men including Col. Ferguson. His obviously stood out the most to us because it was larger and more ornate, but what really stood out to us was the crest(?) thing at the top. Unfortunately none of us were able to translate it or get any information about it. Does anyone know what it means? Here is a picture of the full memorial if anyone is interested.
It's the royal arms.
