Well, if you are looking for only one thing in particular that might have led to the end of the Ottoman Empire which was, to say the least, plagued with many issues, i guess the fact that it lost the First World War is quite a big factor. The partition of the Empire with the treaty of Sevres was really its death blow, although one can argue it might have only sped up the demise of the polity.
