I understand that Hitler didn't have many blood relatives to begin with, but what was the reaction of his family when he rose to and took power, as well as how they saw his legacy post-war?
His parents had both died by the time he took power.
His half-sister Angela worked for him as a caretaker in Berlin, she claims neither she nor Adolf knew anything about the Holocaust.
His other sister, Paula, was living under a fake name, given an allowance from Adolf and worked occasionally.
He had a half brother, Alois Jr, who had worked in various low end jobs across Europe before settling in the UK. Hitler lived (mooched) off of him for a while during his homeless phase, and Alois didn't have a whole lot of respect for him
Hitler was fond of both sisters, but considered them stupid.
The rest of Hitler's extended family made a pact after the war to never have children, thus ending the Hitler blood-line
