Might be a stupid, question, but I'm still curious. Obviously they must've explored there down south (hueh hueh), but exploration and conquest are two very different things.

There were a couple expeditions south on the Nile, but these were more for bringing the Nubians in line with Roman political aims rather than conquest. Likewise, from North Africa the Romans occasionally clashed with the Geramantes, a highly sophisticated civilization in the Sahara which seems to have controlled trade links across the desert. But, again, these were not intended for conquest. I don't know of any Roman attempt to replicate Hanno's voyages.
