Hello, the title says it all! I remember going to a museum and seeing some plate armor which hugged the wearers body perfectly, and used advanced methods of plate overlapping and tucking to cover the joints more effectively without sacrificing mobility. The closest I can come to finding this armor online is a suit for Henry II of France, but the armor I remember seemed even more advanced then this.
So i'd like to ask, what was the most advanced suit of plate metal combat armor ever made?
I can't give an academic answer to this, as I feel like this question would be based on personal preference, but my best answer would be this tournament armor of Henry VIII, it's a beautiful suit from the Greenwich armourers. It's basically what you just described, where the user is quite literally encased in plate from head to toe, with lames covering any and all parts that would usually have been exposed.
