I know Grant hand some serious scandals, but at least he took the heat for them and did something about them for the most part. Not to mention he was never involved in any.
He also did attempt to curb the panic 1873 a little bit, something he didn't really cause himself.
So let me ask also. What does Grant's reputation deserve and what does Jackson's.
Regardless of what you think of Jackson he was an extremely effective President who was able to force his agenda in a manner that no previous President had done and harness "the people" to use as a useful political tool. I gave an overview of his pros and cons here.
