A book i'm reading mentioned that both his mother and his stepfather counselled him not to accept the will that would see him adopted by Caesar.
Is there any source to this, and why would they council this?
I don't have a degree in this, so I could be wrong, but I wager that his mother did not want him to get himself in danger with the anti-caesarians.
