I just read that over 3,000 Europeans have traveled to Syria to fight for ISIS. That number was shocking, but I honestly have no other data points to compare it with. During the Cold War, I know many in Eastern Europe migrated west, but how many people migrated in the opposite direction, into the USSR or USSR-aligned nations, due to ideology?
