In ancient times it appears that the region of Italy that we call Calabria now was actually Bruttium, and the northern part of Apulia was Calabria (the toe and heel of the boot). When did the switch happen and why?
Edit: I'm foolish and should have double checked the names before posting.
Where did you pick up that idea? "Calabria" and "Apulia" come from the Greek names for local tribes which they encountered and the names have stuck ever since. It could be I'm missing something but I can't find any reference to this happening....
