I recently read "romance of the three kingdoms", and I've been looking at the Portal: Three Kingdoms set of Magic the Gathering, and was just wondering how accurate these were in terms of tactics and general events.
along with the tactics, was Xiahou Dun really that cruel a man? Are there any reputable sources for Diaochan? What from that novel and set are accurate, and what are general fluff?
Refer to my post here on warfare I don't know anything about the Magic cards.
was Xiahou Dun really that cruel a man?
There is little detail about what type of person he was other than he was supposedly very generous.
Are there any reputable sources for Diaochan?
There was no "Diaochan" just a nameless maiden who Lu Bu and Dong Zhuo fought over.
What from that novel and set are accurate, and what are general fluff?
Generally the novel is considered 70% truth, 30% fiction. Some will say 60/40 but the point is that it does have quite a bit of accurate history associated with it despite the "additions" Luo Guanzhong made.
