I'm not sure I understand your question. The Aztecs were Native Americans, specifically three groups of Nahuas: Mexica, Acolhua, and Tepanec. They had "contact" with dozens of other Native American groups throughout Mesoamerica: Otomi, Purepecha, Huaxtec, Totonac, Zapotec, Mixtec, various Maya groups, etc.
