I was particularly fascinated by this post by /u/elos_ that depicted WWI as a war of German aggression, but I'd be open to other points of views as well.
If you are looking for a new book that has caused a bit of a stir I would recommend Christopher Clarks "The Sleepwalkers: How Europe Went to War in 1914"
Eric Hobsbawm's books The Age of Empire: 1875-1914 and the first chapter of The Age of Extremes: The Short Twentieth Century, 1914-1991 are great. He writes a fairly objective, impartial view with no strong bias.

It's not a book, but Dan Carlin's "Blueprint for Armageddon" I think does a great job walking you through the events and triggers to the war
