What are the current views on whether there was a post-Roman mass-migration of Anglo-Saxons to Britain during the dark ages or whether it was mainly a cultural and technological change with the ruling classes most affected by warrior migration?
I understand that Cornwall used to be considered a country in its own right but I wondered when and why it became labelled as a 'ceremonial county' and how, given that it has unitary authority, it is different from actual countries of the UK (e.g. Wales) in terms of its autonomy.
