So like the title says, my grandfather confiscated this knife from a Native American who was a bit inebriated and was talked into picking a fight with one of the soldiers. I'm not sure where he was stationed at during the time a lot of the details of this encounter are lost. I know that he spent a lot of his tour in southern France. But this knife is really the only tangible thing I have left from his history apart from a few old photos. If anyone can tell me something about this knife I'd appreciate it.

If you look closely at the blade there is something written on it. I honestly can not read it at all and I'm fairly certain it's not even English. I took as detailed of pictures as I could with my SLR and I have RAW copies as well if that makes a difference. I'm curious if anyone could read it, perhaps that will give some more detail on it.
