There were two similar questions asked before and posted here on the subreddit wiki. In short, people claim they're descended from Roman families, but they don't have reliable records.

If anyone has any answers to add - especially if anyone has even somewhat-reliable genealogies at hand - I'd love to hear more on the subject.
