How powerful were MI -24 helicopters?

Like what type of guns could it withstand?

The Mi-24 Hind is often referred to as a flying tank. The fuselage of the aircraft is heavily armored and is said to be able to withstand impacts from 12.7mm rounds at all angles. The Soviets used these helicopters to great effect during the invasion of Afghanistan where they were not only used to provide close air support, but to ferry troops back and forth in their large cargo bay. Speed of the aircraft is nothing overly impressive. As for armament, that's where the Hind has its bread and butter. The MI-24 generally carried 4 rocket pods and a number of anti-tank missiles, along with a rotary cannon in the nose.

Overall an impressive aircraft, and one to be feared.
