Vietnam post-war?

by GeckoGuy01

I have never heard much about communism in implementation in Vietnam. How was it? Was it better than what they had before? Did Ho Chi Minh have a strict regime, or more relaxed comparatively?

Sorry that i'm just now getting around to this, but for a little bit of clarification, Ho Chi Minh died in '69, 6 years before the Vietnam War ended, so he never had a regime. However, his school of thought lived on in North Vietnamese government, and still does to this day. Anything that deals with government then as opposed to now would mostly be covered by the 20-year rule in this sub, but I would allege that most anything would be better than the French Colonialism they freed themselves from in the 1950s.
