I have heard it goes back to the war between the French and British when British archers bragged of their middle finger not being cut off. but I have also heard this is NOT true. Also I understand that the current Brit version is the pointer and middle finger palm facing toward yourself. any clues what that is about? (maybe something with the "V" for victory simple being similar?) Thanks
