I'm not going to watch a six part video series to answer this, but if you're looking for a good book on Mob history, try The Five Families by Selwyn Raab. A Complete Idiot's Guide to the Mafia by Jerry Capeci, is also pretty good, despite the low reputation of the series; Capeci is a well-established writer on the Italian Mob and spends a good deal of the book poking holes in the stories of various bullshit-mongers.
