Not really. He went into exile into the Netherlands. He was actually a wanted war criminal but, the Queen of the Netherlands refused to give him up. The allies thought it was better to just move on. He hated Hitler but, at first loved that he was getting revenge. He sent a snide congratulations on "conquering France using his army."

I don't actually recall but, I think Hitler offered him a chance to come back to Germany but, he turned it down as he was seeing Hitler for the monster he was.
