Is my teacher trying to fool me with this question? (Violence in Africa)

by Lol_Im_A_Monkey

The following question was presented as extra credit in my class: "Identify a country in Africa that has not had any political violence since the end of colonialism."

I was thinking that it would be easy, just plug it into google and pull out the answer and secure 2 points.

Nothing could be further from the truth. I have been googeling on Africa for 45 min and I cannot find a single word written about a peaceful country in Africa.

How should I go about this? Should I google country by country and see what comes up? Or is there some list with countries that list them after the last time they went to war that could be beneficial for me?

Feels like I am looking at this wrong, it is a lot of work for 2 points I must be missing something!

Since this sub is under the 20-year rule you might have better luck going for /r/homeworkhelp or some similar sub. If the mods will permit it, I'd advise you to look closely at Tanzania. ;)

What is the definition of political violence here? Arguably no country in the world has been totally free of political violence in the last 50 years.
