Most certainly not. The West has respected people of what we now call the Middle East through all of history.

The Middle East was not lightly called the cradle of civilization. Figures from Abraham through Moses to Jesus to Saladin, who was himself a Kurd, and empires from Assyria to the Caliphates, have inspired respect.

The "West" certainly respected the Ottoman Turks as skillful and extremely dangerous enemies and threats for centuries until in the 18th and 19th centuries the Ottomans began to be perceived as weaker and more of an opportunity than a threat.

Israel is very well-respected, and while many Israelis are of European origin, many of them are are quite Middle Eastern.
