The Thirty Years War edited by Geoffrey Parker is one of the best places to start. It covers multiple aspects of the war such as early modern logistics (Parker's forte) and diplomacy.

Europe’s Tragedy: a History of the Thirty Years War by Peter H. Wilson is a doorstopper of a book, but that should not intimidate you. Wilson is quite adept at covering multiple aspects of the war, especially its origins which are tangled in geopolitics and religion.

Nothing beats Geo Epoche magazine's related issue, with pictures, it's almost as you were there.

Not a book, but the podcast, "When diplomacy fails" did a long series on the 30 years war. You could check his references for some good reads.
