I come from Broken Bow, Oklahoma in the U.S., I'm curious if anyone here knows any of the history in that part of Oklahoma. Just a personal study of mine, I can go back to the 1880s but I'm curious if anyone knows any history of that time or a little after.
That's Indian Territory. There are quite a few experts on Native American history. You might do better asking about the Cherokee after the Trail of Tears or asking about specific figures like Stand Watie. To go back further you might ask about the history of Oklahoma or Indian Territory before the Louisiana Purchase. It may seem odd but more specific questions generally get better answers. For the best chance post the question directly in the title. Hope you get what you are looking for.
Ha, fellow BA guy here just bought a house there a few weeks ago actually. this is a good source for what you are looking for. but from what ive been reading it looks like there may not be a ton of recorded history until the turn of the century.

For shits and giggles, here is a pic of my family first moving to oklahoma in 1896. Picture was taken at their homestead in Perkins, Oklahoma. The cabin foundation is still there (just barely). The little baby is my grandfathers dad.
