Not sure if it was the biggest but one of the most significant was the Canadian Federal election of 1993 ( http://esm.ubc.ca/CA93/results.html). Kim Campbell went into the election as Prime Minister and her Progressive Conservative party had 156 seats. They lost 154 seats including Campbell's and dropped from 43% to 16% of the vote. The election redefined Canadian politics.
