I'm doing a project for my history class where I have to investigate the importance of foreign intervention in the First Gulf War. I have plenty of information regarding the coalition intervention during the First Gulf War but I'm having trouble finding information and sources documenting any sort of Kuwaiti resistance. I need to somehow show that the Kuwaitis were not solely dependent on the Coalition. Anyone an expert on this or know some good sources?
One source you might use is Iraqi Perspectives Project Phase II Um Al-Ma’arik (The Mother of All Battles):Operational and Strategic Insights from an Iraqi Perspective which the US government culled out of interviews and captured Iraqi documents. This particular portion of the Iraqi Perspectives deals with both the invasion and subsequent Gulf War.
In short, although the Iraqi planning of the invasion was haphazard and presaged its disastrous performance that would befall it the following year, the Kuwaiti military response was relatively negligible.
